Hot flashes or Fever? I’m confused...and worried.

    Hi Jill-

    Thank you for this question. While hot flashes can present differently for different women, they will typically come on suddenly with a sensation of the heat building, often accompanied by sweating. While a fever can come on suddenly, it typically doesn't result in the onset of sweating. The main difference is that most hot flashes will pass a lot sooner than a fever, so you would notice a return to a more normal body temperature. The other thing to pay attention to is other symptoms, such as coughing and difficulty breathing which are NOT related to hot flashes.
